Salmon Watch - Spirit Bear

Ref from MPP: According to Tsimshian legend, Raven, the Creator, went among the black bears of Princess Royal Island and created every tenth bear white as a reminder of the last ice age; a time when the land was covered with ice and snow. He decreed that these bears would live in peace and harmony forever. As a result of isolation and being undisturbed for thousands of years, the bears have no instinctive fear of people, offering humankind a unique insight into truly wild bears.
