Otter Study

The otter is a favourite animal wherever it is found. It lives in beautiful country, usually along lakes and rivers and even seacoasts. Otters are gregarious, often travelling in family groups, apparently enjoying each other's company with a strong sense of fun.

The otter is perfectly designed for its way of life which is almost aquatic. The body is long, cylindrical and muscular with a long, strong tail slightly flattened from side to side to use as a rudder and also a propeller. The legs are very short, but the feet are big with webs between all toes. I particularly enjoy their alert expression which seems to suit their lively and active behaviour.
