Artist and His Dog, The

My dog, Smallwood, lived to a ripe, old age. His enthusiasm and interest in the landscape was always inspiring. I found myself noticing things that he noticed. In this painting, I have elaborated on a complex jumble of meadow plants which would be at the level of Smallwood's world.
