Falcons have an expression about the eyes which is dignified and strong, yet with a certain warmth. It reminds me of the expression of a racehorse. To me, the interlocking shapes of the bill, mouth and bare skin in front of the eye are reminiscent of the elegant sculptures of ancient Egypt or northwestern American Indian totem poles.
