I have portrayed this owl at the end of the day in the rich glow preceding sunset. White light is made up of all the colours of the spectrum. On a winter evening, these colours seem to separate and radiate a shimmer of every hue. I have echoed the bounds and curves of the grasses in the form of the bird and in the wind-sculpted snow.
